Small pet snakes

There are several kinds of snakes that are safe to have as a pet. The smallest of these snakes is a garter snake. They can easily fit in a little fish tank. Garter snakes grow to about 3 feet long which is about 2 feet shorter than other common pet snakes. They can also be a little more difficult to take care. If this is your first snake you will want to learn as much as you can about taking care of snakes before purchasing one. There are other slightly larger types of common pet snakes that are easier to care for.
Corn snakes are are also a good choice for a small pet snake. They get a little larger than a garter snake, but thye are docile, and easier to care for. Corn snakes range in size from around 3 feet all and occasuonally can reach up to feet. They are fairly inexpensive and live around 15-20 years.
King snakes are also a good choice for a small pet snake. They have beautiful patterns on them with and are docile. King snakes can get pretty long. They range around 6 to 7 feet in length. They also live around 15-20 years.
The ball python is another good snake for a beginnings. Ball pythons are not as large as other constricting snakes and range from about 3 feet to 5 feet long. They live quite a while ranging from about 20 to 30 years.
